Shopping for Jeans: Nightmare or A Breeze?

Do find yourself in a cold sweat or have a panic attack just thinking about shopping for jeans? Well, you are not alone, I dread even the mention of jean shopping. I have nightmarish flash backs to the days when the skinny jean was very popular. There were not just hours spent looking for the right pair, but days, yes days searching for that pair. Do you know how hard it is to fit a large booty into skinny jeans? I mean with out looking like I'm wearing pillow for a behind? That was the moment I swore I will never fall for the latest hype/trend when it comes to the perfect pair of jeans. Did I stick to this promise, well not exactly, or at least not till I had my first baby.

Having a child not only changes your life, but it brings a whole new challenge when it comes to jean shopping. You will find your self in a dressing room crying over the fact you now know what a muffin top is. Let me tell you it is not as pretty as the muffin top you may love to eat for breakfast! At this point I needed to just find jeans that did not have a huge elastic band or ones that made me look like a stuffed sausage. I sure did not want to spend $ 100 bucks for the latest Seven or Lucky jeans; just to have them not fit in 6 months.

So, where do I look for that perfect pair of jeans? You will be shocked to discover I found myself shopping the "Softer Side of Sears." Yes, that is correct, I went shopping for something other than a socket wrench at Sears. While I was walking through Sears to get to the REAL mall I spotted this great sale on Jeans. Guess what, they were actually cute, with dark colors and hot looking pockets that would make my pillow look smaller. So, my post baby body decided to try on a pile of Sears' own brand name jeans on. It was amazing, the jeans fit, they even flattered my muffin top and my behind (aka the pillow). I was so impressed with Sears and their jeans I went back a few months later to purchase a smaller size! How could I not, when they originally cost $19.99, but were on sale for $14.99!!

In the post below are a few jeans you can now find at Sears. Next time Shop the "Softer Side of Sears"!

The fashion diva that I am has finally decided to write a blog. Yes, I know I am a little late to this party, but I finally figured out what to write about. Or better yet what angle to take a blog in, so bare with me while I stumble through my first attempt of putting my thoughts out there.

As I did my research on other blogs I started to realize there is an element of fashion that is missing.  How many of you out there can afford to buy high end designer pieces? Or use to be able to afford them and now you can't because money is tight and we should be saving for a rainy day. Well, I have to admit I could never really afford many high labels nor did I want to walk around with a big C or RL all over my stylish duds. Instead, I would study magazines like In Style, Lucky and Vogue to see what was hot that season. But, then march down to the nearest Target store to see what fun new clothing items would be calling my name.  A lot of times I would only come home with a blouse because I knew it would go with those pants I just bought at Ann Taylor off of  the sale rack.  Low and behold, a few Walmart accessories later, along with the new Target top and pants I would have the same outfit I found in the magazines.

My years of searching through sales racks at all the best stores finally lead me to start my own business and now a blog.  Ok, down to the good stuff, the real reason I am here.  I am here to show how you can be "Chic on the Cheap"! Once a week I will search out new outfits that you may find a famous star wearing.  Or find it in the pages of you favorite magazine, you know the in the section where it says Affordable Fashions, only to find out the outfit will cost you at least $300 and that's  just for the pants.  Have you ever read those articles and thought who are you kidding?? $300 for pants!! Well, I am here to show you how to find those pants for less than $100 and at your local Walmart store no less.

I welcome thoughts, suggestions, or places to shop that you have found helpful for you.  That way I can pass on the fashionable savings to the rest of the world.  See the next blog for my first amazing find/story.
