New Years Resolutions
Happy New Year to All! Yes, I am finally back from taking a long holiday, which I did not intend on taking. Some how the holidays happened and I realized I have not written anything in a month. So, my new years resolution is to write a blog every week. I know, I know we never keep our resolutions, but I will not disappoint my readers this year!
Speaking of resolutions, what was your resolution this year? Did you you promise to eat better, lose ten pounds and run ten miles? Or Did you vow to clean out your house and or closets to make a fresh start to the year? Well, if you said yes to either I have some helpful tips on what to do with your clothing items that no longer fit. Or those items that have been hiding in your closet, way in the back, collecting dust. You know the ones I am referring to, t-shirts from the concerts you saw in the 80's, chenille sweaters with large cowl necks which you thought would come back in style. Well, it is time to dig into those closets and get real with yourself; are you really going to wear that jacket with mountain sized shoulder pads?
Tips for what to do with clothing items:
1. If your items do not have holes in them find your nearest goodwill or thrift store, they are in need of clothes this year. Or better yet find the local women shelter.
2. If items are truly worn out or really out dated throw them in the trash!
3. Check to see the reason you have not worn the item is due to lack or ironing or needs buttons. Replace buttons and get out that ironing board. Or take them to dry cleaning and have them pressed.
4. Think the item is out dated, well think again, layering is huge right now. Take out that turtleneck, throw a tank under it, then wear a long belted cardigan over the layers. Put with cute jeans and fun boots....you have an outfit.
5. If, you really do lose those tens pounds you may find your clothes will not fit the same. In the blog below check out ways to tailor items that are too big or a little out dated. See pictures below
